JAMB has approved 747 (CBT) centres for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). This is an increase of 134 centres from the 613 centres that were accredited for the 2023 UTME.
The aim of this expansion is to accommodate more candidates and ensure a smooth and hitch-free examination proces.
The UTME is a compulsory examination for candidates seeking admission into various tertiary institutions in Nigeria. It tests the candidates’ knowledge and aptitude in four subjects, which are chosen from a list of 23 subjects.

The UTME is conducted online, using computer terminals that are connected to a central server. The candidates are required to answer 180 questions in two hours.
To register for the UTME, candidates need to have a valid National Identification Number (NIN), which is a unique identifier for every Nigerian citizen and legal resident. Candidates also need to create a profile on the JAMB portal, using their phone number and email address.
After creating a profile, candidates will receive a confirmation code, which they will use to pay the registration fee of N6,200 (or N7,700 for those who want to take the mock examination) at any of the approved banks or online platforms.
Candidates will then receive an e-pin, which they will use to complete their registration at any of the accredited CBT centres.
Candidates are advised to choose their preferred CBT centre from the list of 747 centres that have been approved by JAMB for the 2025 UTME. The list of the centres can be accessed on the JAMB website or through this link.
Candidates should note that they can only register at the CBT centre where they intend to take the examination, and that they cannot change their centre after registration. Candidates should also ensure that they provide accurate and verifiable information during registration, as any discrepancy or falsification may lead to disqualification.
JAMB has also provided some materials and resources to help candidates prepare for the UTME. These include the syllabus for each subject, the brochure for each course and institution, and the reading text for the Use of English subject.
You can download these materials from the JAMB website or get them for free at the CBT centres during registration.
JAMB has also introduced some innovations to enhance the quality and credibility of the UTME, such as the use of audio books for blind candidates, the removal of diagrams from blind candidates’ questions, and the provision of support for candidates with special needs, such as Down syndrome, Autism, Dyslexia, and ADHD.
The 2025 UTME is a crucial step for candidates who aspire to further their education and pursue their dreams. JAMB has made efforts to ensure that the examination is fair, transparent, and accessible for all eligible candidates.
You are therefore urged to take advantage of the opportunities and facilities that JAMB has provided, and to prepare adequately for the examination. We wish all candidates success in the 2025 UTME.
