JAMB allows students to change their course of study after their UTME results are released. This is an opportunity for students to switch to a less competitive course or to a course that is more aligned with their interests.

JAMB Data Correction Form
There are a few things you can correct on your JAMB Personal Information Correction Form. These include:
- Course/Institution: Candidates may decide to change their Course of study and Institution if they don’t score up to the cut-off mark required to buy the Post UTME form.
- Name: You can correct your name if there is a typo or if your name has changed since you registered for JAMB.
- Date of birth

How to Request for JAMB Data Correction
If you are applying for correction of data for an exam that was taken in 2022 or earlier, you will need to provide supporting documents. These documents may include a birth certificate, a national ID card, or a driver’s license.
JAMB will review your application and notify you of their decision within 14 working days. If your application is approved, the changes will be made to your JAMB profile.
NOTE: JAMB charges N2,500 for the change of course/institution or any other data correction. However, there may be additional charges from the CBT center where you will be changing it, that’s if you are not doing it by yourself.

Below are the steps on how to apply for JAMB data correction:
- Visit the JAMB facility Portal.
- Sign in to your account.
- On the left side bar, Click on “Application for Correction of Data”.
- Tap on any of the Data you want to correct.
- Select your “Examination year” from the drop-down, enter your “Registration number” and tap the “search details” button.
- Choose a payment method of your Choice.
- Make the payment using your credit card (ATM).
- You will be redirected back to the JAMB portal to correct your data.
If your application is approved, you will be assigned to a new course at a different institution. You will need to complete the admission process at your new institution.
Also, you need to know that you can only change your course once. If you are not satisfied with your new course, you will need to wait until the next admission cycle to apply for a different course.
